Christmas time 2016 in Paris

Some days ago a swiss friend sent me a pirate video clip currently circulating on the net: old videos of riots that took place some ten or more years ago were edited and presented like images of an actual attack of immigrants on the capital of France. Violent street scenes terrorise a scared population with police incapable of handling the situation. The title was  “Paris occupied by immigrants – the media keeps silent”. As streets in Paris don’t resemble at all…

Fantoma Operei si celelalte fantome ale Mariei Bjørnson

Lui Ioana i-a plăcut de mică musicalul The Phantom of the Opera. The phantom of the opera is here Inside my mind …”

The Emperor’s New Clothes – Olafur Eliasson at Versailles

Last year inside and outside the castle of Versailles we admired Anish Kapoor’s sculptures and mirrors. We played with the images, with our image upside down or on an enourmous arch, seeing us large or thread thin. It was joyful and lovely, interesting and artistical, as Anish Kapoor used us in tens of years of classy work and research. This year the exposing artist is Olafur Eliasson, a Danish-Icelandic artist, world known for sculptures and large-scale installation art. He uses…

I’m sooo tired…

… were singing the Beatles. Sometimes, after lunch in my office, my head is heavy, my eyes are closing and I have problems to concentrate at work. Did this happen to you ? Several of my colleagues feel sleepy and have different techniques to be again awake and efficient: a cup of coffee, a smoke, a quick tour outside in the park next to the building (very useful in winter time). I know there are institutions where special spaces are…

Grandma is testing a video recipe

I always loved trying on new things. So I couldn’t help myself after watching a video with a apple cake recipe who didn’t need to be prepared in the owen. This, I said to myself, is really interesting – a cake in a saucepan ? I’ll let you decide if it was a success or not, after the following photos. Here is the original recipe (thank you, Tastemade!) https://www.tastemade.com/videos/upside-down-apple-cake …and this is my result If you feel like trying this…

Jean Nouvel, Brahms and the Philharmonie de Paris

My good friend Senta came to Paris. She comes regularly from Munich to explore Paris with me, the surroundings and France. We have complementary knowledge about things: I take her to the places I love, she proposes places I never went before or we discover together exhibitions, new places, theater plays or concerts. She has an extensive musical and artistic culture by experience and education. We can speak for hours at a glass of lovely wine and we find every…
