Numero 1 is the name of the mini collection of sunglasses created by Thierry Lasry & Garrett Leight, two eyewear designers, heirs of well-known eyewear companies – French Thierry is the son of Harry Lary‘s people while LA Venice beach borned Garrett is Oliver People‘s co-founders son, Larry Leight and Cindy Leight.
“Because as much as I love music I wasn’t given the god given talent to create it and as much as I’d like to be a famous actor I don’t think Hollywood thinks I’m pretty enough.” Garret Leight is a passionate designer aiming to “creating classic design by combining perfect craftmanship with timeless aesthetics”.
Leight is more concerned about the quality and technical aspect of his products than the stars wearing it even if he is born and lives next to Hollywood, rather talking about his own lab and its performance in Venice (California) – details which I highly appreciate.
Thierry’s sunglasses described as “futuristic vintage” are spotted on Anne Hathaway, Eva Mendes, Alessandra Ambrosio, Dita von Teese, Lady Gaga or Jessica Alba – and the young designer is proud of it.
The launchment of the mini collection of France handmade acetate sunglasses will take place Saturday 30th of June at Colette concept store. Inspirate by Los Angeles meets Paris, the 2 designs of sunglasses, declined in 3 colors each, are made in only 1000 pieces both you can find exclusively at the parisian store.
