One of the projects I worked with a lot of pleasure this year was Noemi Meilman’s Book Cover Tee’s.  Because it was a creative idea involving special people and because the main idea is to donate all profit to two romanian animal associations, Iubirre and Red Panda.

And I was very honored to be part of it. On a T-shirt designed by amazing Lucian Broscatean and Noemi, I tried to figure out the ideal book cover for me.

Early in July I started drawing different covers, from Lawrence Durell to Muriel Barbery’s Elegance of the Hedgehog. But finally choose John Steinbeck’s Sweet Thursday, the day between Lousy Wednesday and Waiting Friday as the author put it. I was looking for an idea who could be challenging, new and fun. After some days of drawing while being on holidays, it was clear that it must be a worn out shoe who can “suffer” some glittery change, to portray Suzy, one of the main characters. I didn’t visualized at first the sequin-look, but arty-buddy Stefan turned it in no time in the frosting final drawing 🙂
