The little black jacket – one of Chanel’s iconic pieces. The perfect subject for us & Code Noir Style.
Watching the result of Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld collaboration, it gave another meaning to this classic piece of cloth. Sarah Jessica Parker, Vanessa Paradis, Laeticia Casta, Romain Duris, Kirsten Dunst, Kanye West, Yoko Ono or Claudia Schiffer, Olivier Theysken or Anna Wintour – many and so different personalities got creative under Karl’s mastered eye.
Lagerfeld redesigned the famous jacket, making it possible for men to wear it without ambiguity. I do think I rather wear it with jeans and high heels than letting my boyfriend go to his office with it!
The person who surprised me most was Carine Roitfeld – posing as Coco Chanel.
As I missed the London exhibition at Saatchi Gallery, I’m looking forward to see it at Grand Palais, a place I love in Paris. Apparently I’m not the only one – Lagerfeld has a soft spot for it since most of Chanel fashion shows are taking place there.
